B.C. INVESTS $27.4M IN HOUSING FOR HOMELESS IN VICTORIA
VICTORIA – March 19, 2009 – Minister Rich Coleman breaks ground for the new social housing development on Ellice Street with the help of (l to r) Kathy Stinson, Victoria Cool Aid Society (VCAS), Victoria Mayor Dean Fortin, Minister Ida Chong and Don McTavish, VCAS. The Province provided $27.4 million for two new supportive housing developments, creating 272 jobs in Victoria.

TERRACE – Ksan Residence and Shelter, a new $5.9-million emergency shelter and transitional housing development, officially opened to house individuals at risk of homelessness in Terrace, announced John Rustad, MLA for Nechako Lakes.

$10.7-MILLION WOMEN’S HOUSING BREAKS GROUND IN KELOWNA
KELOWNA – Provincial, municipal and community partners gathered for the groundbreaking of the $10.7-million Tutt Street Place, a new 39-unit supportive housing development for women in financial need, the Honourable Steve Thomson, Minister for Agriculture and Lands and MLA for Kelowna-Mission announced.
