  • American Council on Science and Health
    A consumer education consortium of scientists concerned with issues related to food, nutrition, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, lifestyle, the environment and health. Created "to add reason and balance to debates about public health issues and bring common sense views to the public." Provides a wide range of publications, including peer-reviewed reports on important health and environmental topics; a quarterly magazine, Priorities; and a semi-annual review of ACSH press coverage, Media Update.
  • The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) - Canadian version
    "A nonprofit education and advocacy organization that focuses on improving the safety and nutritional quality of our food supply and on reducing the carnage caused by alcoholic beverages." Publishes the Nutrition Action Healthletter.
  • FATFREE: The Low Fat Vegetarian Archive
    This archive has 2,391 fat free and very low fat vegetarian recipes as well as information about healthy, very low fat vegetarian diets. Also has link to the USDA Nutrient Database.
  • FDA Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition
    Information on food additives, pesticides, HACCP and more, from the (U.S.) Food and Drug Administration.
  • Food and Nutrition Information Center
    An information center of the (US) National Agriculture Library. Lots of info on such topics as foodborne illness, food safety, food composition, nutrition monitoring, healthy school meals, dietary guidelines, and more.
  • FoodNet
    A newly created information network for the food industry, and a joint pilot project of the Food Institute of Canada and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
  • International Food Information Council Foundation
    Information on a broad range of food issues, from food biotechnology to tips for healthy eating.
  • NIN Online (National Institute of Nutrition)
    A national non-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership in promoting nutrition for the benefit of all Canadians.
  • Nutrition Online
    Health Canada's Nutrition Online Service offers full-text publications like the Food Guide to Healthy Eating and other information for consumers and health professionals.
  • Nutrition and Physical Activity (CDC)
    Information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity; includes news, consumer information, scientific publications, and info on programs and promotions dealing with nutrition and physical activity.
  • Professional Resources in Nutrition Sciences (PRINS)
    A web site from the Brooklyn College Nutrition Faculty and Students, and designed for nutritionists and nutrition students to access information useful for professional practice. Includes nearly 2,000 links to nutrition-related websites, including links to organizations, mailing lists, and online resources such as journals, publishers, libraries and databases.
