Pregnancy Outreach Program

The Pregnancy Outreach Program in BC provides services and supports to pregnant women and new families at risk of poor maternal or infant health due to poverty, substance use and/or isolation. There are 40 sites throughout the province providing nutrition counselling, supplemental food, social support, health education, and referral to other community services. Child and Youth Health provides input into the implementation, evaluation, management and policy issues of the Pregnancy Outreach Program which is funded by health authorities and the federal Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program.
